What this page is for
A placeholder so the essay template has something to render. It is about the site, not the clothes, and it goes when the first real piece lands.
Placeholder text. This is not an essay and nobody signed it. It exists so the writing index has one row and the essay page has one body to lay out. The first real piece replaces it, and this file is deleted in the same commit.
Everything on this page that is not this text is the template: the kicker above the title, the deck, the rule, the measure the paragraphs sit on, the link underline, the rule and the row at the end. Read it for how the page holds text, not for what the text says.
What the template does
The column is 660 pixels wide, about 66 characters at this size, and the body is set at 19 pixels with a line height of 1.6. Paragraphs are separated by one line and never indented. Headings inside a piece stay below the title and never go above 44 pixels.
Links look like this one, to the about page. The rose under a link is one of three places the colour appears on the site. The other two are the button and the rail in the footer.
Images in a real piece are one of two things: a photograph, when the piece says “I wore this”, or an illustration, which is labelled as one. This placeholder has neither.
What replaces it
The first pieces are about the clothes, the fit and the training that made them fit. When one is ready it goes through the same review as everything else and lands here with its own date.
Until then, this is a placeholder, and it says so.
